We are quite often asked what is involved in planning your kitchen and bathroom renovation.

How do I start?
Your first step is to collect pictures and magazine articles of kitchens or bathrooms you like and start a project file. Keep notes on what you want to see in your new kitchen. What do you like and dislike about your existing kitchen? Visit our newly renovated kitchen showroom.

How long have you been in business?
We have been family owned and operated since 1976. We now have three generations involved in each kitchen and bathroom renovation. We are members of the Better Business Bureau as well as the NKBA.

What cabinetry lines do you carry?
We have been manufacturing our own line of frameless cabinets. Each cabinet is made to order. This allows us to offer more options such as melamine or wood interiors, custom finishes and colours, drawer options and accessories that make the most of our client’s kitchens.

We have recently added a beautiful line of framed cabinets; Huntwood Custom Cabinets. They are one of the largest manufacturers in the west and offer almost limitless choices for the consumer. More information and pictures can be found by viewing their website at www.huntwood.com.

How much should I budget for my kitchen or bathroom renovation?
Each project is different and so prices will vary depending on the scope of the project, materials, styles, interior fittings, etc that are chosen. We recommend that you talk to our designer during your first meeting and establish what your budget is. This allows our designers to recommend products or services that best match your lifestyle and budget.

How much does the Kitchen Idea Centre do?
We are a full service company and can offer complete packages or work with your trades. Many of our clients prefer to take advantage of our full design and contracting services while others opt to use only our design and installation service. We have recently begun to make available a select series of our Huntwood Custom Cabinets for those who prefer to do-it-yourself.

Does a kitchen or bathroom remodel increase the value of your home?
It certainly does. The Appraisal Institute of Canada shows that a kitchen or bathroom renovation will yield a 75% - 100% return on your investment when the time comes to sell your home.

Do you charge to have a designer come out and look at our project?
We do not charge for the initial consultation but we do ask that you visit our showroom first to look at the products and materials that best suit your lifestyle. After a showroom visit, we will set up an appointment with one of our designers for an in-home visit.
